Address social, environmental and cultural problems arising from the interactions between communities and their environment, where the incorporation and application of scientific and technological knowledge or creative processes, contribute to improve, optimize or transform problems for the benefit of the communities, through the collaborative work of professors of the Universidad de los Andes, the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and these with community representatives.
The 2030 Global Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a global commitment by the 193 member countries of the United Nations (UN) since 2015, which seeks to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all, by comprehensively addressing challenges in the social, economic and environmental dimensions, and its guiding principle of "leaving no one behind"1. This implies the need to focus development efforts on closing gaps and inequalities between different population groups in order to provide them with the capabilities and tools necessary to live fully.
For its part, Colombia, as a member of the UN and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), has stood out for leading the implementation of the SDGs by seeking to articulate public policy instruments and national and territorial agendas to advance in the achievement of specific goals in the areas of poverty, education and environmental protection, among the main ones2.
Considering the above, it is important to note that although Colombia has been working on addressing the SDGs, there are still many challenges to be addressed to ensure sustainable and inclusive development of communities. In our particular Colombian context, during the last decades it has been evident the existence of conflicts between communities and their environment, including disputes over natural resources, socio-environmental conflicts, among others, which have resulted in consequences such as over-exploitation of natural resources, strengthening of extractive economies, detriment of the social fabric, to mention a few.
The attention to social, environmental and cultural problems derived from the interactions between the community and its environment becomes a challenge that must be approached from an interdisciplinary perspective and the generation of effective alliances with the actors involved in them. In this sense, this call calls for an articulated work between professors of the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (PUJ), Universidad de los Andes (Uniandes) and representatives of communities to present initiatives that involve the incorporation of scientific and technological knowledge or creative processes[3], and where the knowledge of all participants is valued and used as a significant input for the development of solutions that can be adapted, replicated and scaled for the benefit of the communities.
In this sense, this call is in harmony with the institutional goals of the participating universities. In this sense, the call is oriented to contribute to the purpose of generating a reflection and an approach to actions that lead to generate a social impact of relevance in their daily work. Likewise, the call will contribute to its purpose of advancing research that seeks to encourage a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship that impacts on academic, administrative and university activities, in order to promote social innovation, with the aim of generating benefits to communities through creation" (Cobo, 2021).

[3] Creation processes require disciplined and planned structures, similar to research. However, experimentation during this process allows "exploring the qualities of materials, knowing the handling of tools and developing unique skills." (Carillo, 2022) likewise, it is characterized by handling a plastic language (such as music, sculpture, dance, audiovisual, among other sectors) (Delgado et al., 2015); and making use of material expression, as is the case of the work of Pablo Picasso, Antonio Gaudi, among others; and in designers' projects.
